Item title reads - The Derby 1925. Epsom. Surrey. Intertitle - ’All roads lead to the historic Downs.’ L/S of people walking about under umbrellas, big crowds are in attendance. Various shots of many cars and taxis driving to the course. A hunting carriage drives up complete with man blowing a bugle. Intertitle - ’Wireless was used by police traffic controllers for the first time and with great success.’ L/S of the police under tarpaulin covers in vans with wireless equipment in the back. M/S of the radio operator sat wearing his headphones and writing in a book. The camera pans across to another truck. Intertitle - ’The King had a right royal reception.’ M/S as mounted police drive through and the King’s coach drives along followed by others in the royal procession. Intertitle - ’Wet and dismal conditions did not prevent a huge attendance.’ L/S of the crowds milling about between bookmakers’ stands. M/S of people sat on the roof of their cars.
