Dublin Mourns Dead President (1922)

Dublin, Ireland (Eire). Full titles read: “DUBLIN MOURNS DEAD PRESIDENT - REMARKABLE DEMONSTRATIONS OF PUBLIC SYMPATHY. Impressive scenes at the Cortege wends it’s way through hushed streets thronged with half a million mourners.“ L/S’s of numerous clergymen milling around outside church. L/S’s of clergymen walking down steps. L/S of Bishop walking down steps. L/S of the pall bearers carrying the former Presidents (Mr Arthur Griffith ?) coffin, the Irish Tricolour flag is draped over the top of it. The coffin is slid into the back of the hearse. Intertitle reads: “Passing along O’Connell Street.“ L/S’s of large crowds lining the street to get a glimpse of the funeral procession. The police can be seen pushing the crowds back to either side of the road. L/S’s of the band proceeding sombrely through the street, followed by the hearse.
