Ice-Bound (1922)

Item title reads: “Our cameraman secures exclusive and unique pictures on adventurous trip from Finland to Stockholm.“ The Baltic Sea. Intertitle reads: “It is more than 20 years since the Baltic was completely frozen over.“ Beautiful footage of ships breaking through ice and various antics on a frozen stretch of sea. A group of people dance in a circle on the ice “ring-a-ring-a-roses“. Two couples (one mixed, one two men) dance together on the ice, whirling each other around. A man in the background plays an accordion. A horse pulls a sleigh across the ice and a boat called “Murtaja“ passes, it is flying a Finnish flag (I think - hard to tell in Black & White!). Various shots of ships as they travel through the ice. Nice C/U of the prow of a boat as it breaks through ice. Boat in a snow storm moving through ice. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
