Channel Swim Skit (1926)

Full title reads: “Channel swim skit. Professor Hacking Kauf, having swum the Channel, continues up Thames and finished up at Cookham Regatta!“ Exact location of events unknown. M/S of a small motor launch on River Thames decorated to look like a pirate ship. Lots of smoke comes out of stern, it half-capsizes and the crew dive into the water. People in canoes decorated as crocodiles close in on the pirate boat. M/S of two male swimmers with rubber inflatable swans around their waists towing along a man in a crocodile canoe along river. The man wears a false moustache and tips his hat at the camera. Very bizarre and surreal. Cuts exist - see separate record for details. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ.
