Vermont: Burlington’s police chief is again calling for more to be done to hold repeat offenders accountable. This time, it comes after police say a Burlington officer was assaulted early Saturday morning. Police say Michael Gbenusola, 41, of Swanton, punched the officer— unprovoked— after police say the officer asked if Gbenusola needed help. Police say Gbenusola has an extensive history of violence in Vermont. The officer was taken to the hospital.
