Louis Lefébure-Wély was a highly esteemed French organist, whose talents were acknowledged at the age of 21 by the renowned organ builder Aristide Cavaillé-Coll, himself only 27 at the time. The two of them formed a partnership, and Lefébure-Wely mastered the new technique that perfectly suited Cavaillé-Coll’s French Romantic instruments.
