Ukraine’s Battle for Kidnapped Children: Russia Will be Held Accountable

Russian occupants have taken more than 2,400 Ukrainian children to Belarus from the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. These are children from the temporarily occupied territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions. Russia’s systematic efforts to deport and as they call it ‘re-educate’ Ukrainian children are coordinated personally by Putin with Lukashenko. The Ukrainian prosecutor’s office together with the International Criminal Court is investigating the forced deportation of overall 19,546 Ukrainian children. Canada has proposed to set up an international coalition to assist in the return of Ukrainian children abducted by the Russian Federation.
