Hinterland - A Wild Lament (full album, 2023)

Beautiful raw melancholy melodic US black metal from Hinterland, a new project from DC of Plainchant (plus other formidable projects), alongside AR on additional guitars. An instant purchase when I saw the notification last week. These two projects add to one of the strands of the new wave of USBM, which comes caked in an earthy rawness around a mellifluous core of nostalgic reverie. I look forward to physical editions of this album, and the Plainchant demos, when the time comes.
