Techno-soils. Vibrofabricat Vasilyevsky | Sound performance | Boris Shershenkov

On the territory of a modern city bioinert soil systems become part of the urban technobicenosis and irreversibly change under the influence of many anthropogenic and technogenic factors. Urban soils and techno-soils, encased in the armor of asphalt and paving slabs, are also formed under the influence of constant vibrations from various types of electromechanical systems. Urban transport, ventilation and air conditioning systems, large and small industrial enterprises create constant vibrational fields of sonic and infrasonic frequencies which propagate in solids at high speed and carry a huge amount of energy absorbed and dissipated by the soils. The second part of the sound performance “Techno-soils. Vibrofabricat“ is dedicated to working with vibrational fields of urban techno-soils within the territory of the Arrow of Vasilyevsky Island, St Petersburg. The streams of mechanical energy captured with the geophones become audible when the equilibrium states of the author’s electroacoustic system of the Phonotrone type are violated. More information about the project can be found at . / Оказываясь на территории современного города, биокосные системы почв становятся частью городского технобиценоза и претерпевают необратимые изменения под влиянием множества антропогенных и техногенных факторов. Урбанозёмы и технозёмы, закованные в броню асфальта и тротуарной плитки, формируются в том числе под влиянием постоянных вибраций от различных видов электромеханических систем. Городской транспорт, системы вентиляции и кондиционирования, крупные и малые производственные предприятия создают постоянные вибрационные поля звуковой и инфразвуковой частоты, распространяющиеся в твёрдых веществах с большой скоростью и переносящие огромное количество энергии, поглощаемой рассеиваемой почвой. Вторая часть звукового перформанса «Технозёмы. Виброфабрикат» посвящена работе с вибрационными полями технозёмов Cтрелки Васильевского острова в Санкт-Петербурге. Потоки механической энергии, улавливаемые при помощи геофонов, становятся слышимыми при нарушении равновесных состояний авторской электроакустической системы типа Phonotrone.
