Sphen, the globally famous gay penguin, dies at Sydney aquarium

The gentoo penguin Sphen, whose same-sex love story made him and partner Magic an equality symbol worldwide, has died. Upon Sphen’s death, Magic burst into song, with the rest of the colony at Sea Life Sydney Aquarium following suit.
