This 1964 Triumph TR4 is a Classic Car That’s Fun To Drive, Rewarding To Maintain, and Gorgeous

This is the first TR4 I’ve had the pleasure of driving, and I was thoroughly impressed - not only is the styling beautiful, but it is - hands down - a far better car than the MGB that I was comparing it to in my mind. It felt bigger, better made, more substantial, and with better materials. I appreciated the way the engine was set way back to help with weight distribution and balance, and the smooth, clicky feel of the shifter. It is by no means a fast car, but it is an absolute joy to drive. This is what makes cars like this true classics - unlike the perfectly restored ’67 GTO a guy keeps in his garage, and remains terrified of exposing to the street, this Triumph is made for driving. The entry price is reasonable, the car draws looks, and it’s easy and affordable to maintain with a steady supply of OEM and aftermarket parts.
