Asheville Percussion Festival 2018 “Inquiry“ Original Composition by Naghmeh Farahmand This piece is primarily in 7/8 and led by Naghmeh on the daf, a traditional Persian style frame drum with accompanying percussion by other guest artists on an array or world instruments. Featuring Guest Artists: Raquy Danziger River Guerguerian Kasiva Mutua Monette Marino Lisette Santiago Isabel Castellvi Asheville Percussion Festival is produced each year by the non-profit organization, Asheville Rhythm, under the artistic direction of River Guerguerian. The theme for the 2018 Asheville Percussion Festival was “Celebrating Women in Rhythm“ and all of the headlining guest artists were women who have diligently pioneered to excellence in their respective musical genres.
