Detour (Westmoreland) by Patti Page, orchestra conducted by Jack Rael
Patti’s signature tune, Pee Wee King’s “Tennessee Waltz,” had first been a successful 1940s country music song hit. So this time, she revived the 1946 “Detour,” originally popularized by the western swing band of Spade Cooley. Patti reached #5 on the national pop juke box charts with this, one of six Page hits included in the 1951 collection.
