Sparkle Moore - Rock-a-Bop (1956)

Sparkle made very few recordings, but was considered a female Elvis type. She was 19 at the time of this record. Original Billboard review: “Gal pulls a female Elvis Presley and belts out a catchy rock and roll ditty with style and drive.“ Billboard rating: 66 out of 100. Did not chart in Billboard but released as a single in November 1956. Written by Barbara Morgan (Sparkle’s real name). B-side is “Skull and Crossbones“.
