Tieties is a baboon orphan that from just a few weeks old has spent her time with humans being kept as a pet as part of a ’human family’. Finally, at 7 months old she has been surrendered to . when her human ’family’ understood it was time for her to be a baboon. Thankfully her human family loved her enough to let her go. There were many tears from her human friends. Tieties was really loved and adored by her human friends but baboons were never born to be pets and so we are glad that the family realized she needed far more than they could ever give her, she needs her own kind. Baboons are busy, sassy and if kept as a ’pet’ eventually they can be aggressive and keeping them puts humans and themselves in great danger. They are intelligent social beings with complex social needs. Upon arrival, Tieties was introduced to some of the baboons in the ’Bonding Enclosures’ which are in a ’Quarantine’ and introductory Phase of Rehabilitation. Young orphan babo
