RAF Blenheims Bomb Forces of Fascist Italy | Libyan Desert | “Operation Compass“ | December 1940
December 1940.
Footage of Royal Air Force Blenheims bombing Italian positions in the Libyan desert at the start of an offensive during the Western Desert Campaign waged from 1940 to 1943.
The RAF made heavy raids on Italian aerodromes, “softening up“ the enemy, but also diverting them from the preparations being made by General Archibald Wavell to attack Italian forces in the overall command of Marshal Rodolfo Graziani.
