Houdini CHOP Talk 5 - Copy Chop

In this tutorial I’ll show how to use the fun and powerful copy CHOP. The project file is available on Gumroad. I’ll show how to copy a single animation multiple times, additively, to a single object, as well as how to apply the same animation to many instances of an object. Both methods use “trigger“ channels to copy and apply the animation. In this demo those triggers come both from user input, key presses, and from events that happen in the scene. 0:00 - Intro 1:40 - First example, single tube 2:00 - Create tube and initial animation 5:23 - Copy CHOP explanation and set up 11:05 - Export from CHOPs to SOPs 17:09 - Example 2, applying copied animation to instances 20:33 - Using groups as triggers 23:08 - CHOP set up 27:31 - Bringing your triggered animation back to SOPs 31:04 - Using a for each point loop for the time offset 38:24 - Setting up the spiral shape rather than straight line 41:30 - Final Fixes 43:50 - Other examples
