Houdini CHOP Talk 4 Audio Processing 2 Triggers

Here I show how to process audio in CHOPs to generate triggers that I further process into ordered and random patterns. I then use those impulse patterns to drive a Vellum grain simulation. The audio used from Six Umbrellas, it’s a song named Downfall. It is used under Creative Commons, and can be downloaded here 0:00 Intro 03:32 Trigger CHOP overview 06:58 Stretching the audio for more trigger control 09:47 Count CHOP 11:46 Demonstration on grid array 14:25 Group by Expression 17:49 VopCHOP - Generating random values 21:10 Return to zero on continuous values 27:05 Making the CHOP set up procedural 35:15 Dopnet / Vellum Solver set up 37:57 Geo Wrangle for Cd and pscale 39:37 OpenCL issues with version 19 45:20 Coloring grains post sim 49:13 End
