Lee Hazlewood was Sanford’s manager in the mid 50s. He wrote a song and with the help of guitarist Al Casey and his combo backing up Sanford, They made a recording of it. Lee took it to Dot records and Randy Wood released it in 1956. It was Sanford’s only true major hit.
