Finland - The land of a gazillion swamps, swamp wrestling matches and swamp mummies. Finland has the highest proportion of wetlands in the world. There’s at least ten words for swamp in the Finnish language: Suo räme, letto, neva, luhta, lähteikkö, aapa, palsa, jänkä and korpi. People usually think swamps are “just for wolves“ and have no use for anything else. Sigh.
