PFD “The Pancake Incident“ (2002) Full Third Album

After the disaster of the 2nd PFD album I decided maybe I needed to take a little break from trying to do this heavy stuff and go back to my former punk life a bit. So I did what every band does after their second album fails. A covers album! Inspired by Guns N Roses’ The Spaghetti Incident, PFD went to work on... The Pancake Incident. Seventeen cover songs of mostly punk songs but with a few other things thrown in here and there. Since it was mostly punk inspired, I tried to go for a more appropriate sound. I dialed back on the distortion a bit and tried to make everything a little less “digital“ sounding, to little result. There was just no hiding those MIDI drums. In the end I still think this was by far the best sounding one of the first three. Things were getting better. Even my some of it at least. What came out was an album with a few songs I liked, a few that were mediocre and a few I hated, but overall much better than the previous outing. Why did I call this The Pancake Incident?
