The author of the song is unknown and it most likely appeared during the anti-communist protests from 2009. The protests in the Republic of Moldova in 2009 were against the parliamentary election from the country in that year. They began before the final of the official results were announced. The demonstrators claimed that the elections, which saw the governing Party of Communists of the Republic of Moldova win a majority of seats, were fraudulent, and alternatively demanded a recount, a new election, or resignation of the government. The Republic of Moldova is the only country in the world where the communists have officially returned to power after they were once removed from power. They returned to power after the Transnistrian War (1992) and ruled the country until 2009.
