I made what I call a python pattern Damascus knife using about 800 high-carbon steel balls.
Regarding the container, I chose not to remove it to get a better structure, and after finishing the first forge, I used a milling machine to remove the mild steel can.
About pattern inspiration. I have seen many steel ball forging videos, but the pattern is not what I want, I want to get something like an irregular circle, not an elongated ellipse, so I cut the billet into small pieces at 30°, and arrange them evenly to make A pattern of cross sections is obtained.
For the final forge weld, I used 1mm thick mild steel that was completely sealed by welding. It will be safer to do so. Here’s what I learned from watching other YouTubers make explosion mosaics. Thanks for watching
