Kreisler-Rachmaninoff: Liebesleid played by Charles Rosen
Notes by Charles Rosen:
Rachmaninoff’s arrangement of Kreisler’s Liebesleid (“Love’s Sorrow“) is a tribute to his friend. The simple rendering of Kreisler’s music at the beginning gives way to a typical Rachmaninoff cadenza in the middle.
