Rob Amchin—University of Louisville—Old King Glory (song and simple process)

Day one of our semester! We were kings and queens today. This primary grade game started our semester to learn to follow directions, listen to words, learn about steady beat, and sing! The “process“ of this game is the same as I do with young children. My mom called this the “sink or swim“ method. The song was learned through repetition and “following“ directions. This song was paired with “The Noble Duke of York“ in this lesson. We wondered if we should “follow me“ on the first, second AND the third one or just the 3rd one. The class come to the consensus that it was just the 3rd person who followed the king. The students were music education majors on their first day of elementary methods, 2015. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- If you enjoy my content: Subscribe to my Patreon: Follow me on Instagram: Join my Facebook group: To learn more about me, visit my website: Feel free to contact me if you would like me to visit your school, district, region or country.
