Here are two variations for miao dao parry (defense) and strike (attack). Always try to practice on a target (boxing pylon) or tree and also with a partner to correctly understand applications and body mechanics. Coordinate stepping with striking. Train to judge distance, accuracy or target, use of hips and momentum. Keep shoulders and arms relaxed. Power comes from the hips.
