Geraldine Farrar and Antonio Scotti – “Contes d’Hoffman- Barcarole” (Oh, Night of Love)

From Offenbach’s 1881 opera comes “Oh, Night of Love”, sung here by Geraldine Farrar and Antonio Scotti. This one-sided Victrola Record number 87502, in French, was recorded around 1909, and has a very interesting “sales pitch” sticker on the back. Regardless of the self-praise the Victor Company gives, the talent of Farrar and Scotti is undeniable. Enjoy this 1918 VV-VI!
