Mandarinfish Dance

It’s dusk. Pairs of brilliantly colored mandarinfish meet and align themselves belly to belly. They begin an intricate mating ritual, spiraling upward in choreographed precision on their way to consummation. This spectacle takes place hundreds of times each evening at the site known as Magic Pier, and it can be witnessed by taking a week-long cruise on the dive yacht Pelagian throughout the Wakatobi islands in SE Sulawesi, Indonesia.
