Late 30’s Recording King played by Molly Tuttle

This Recording King Jumbo was sold in the Montgomery Ward catalog in the late ’30s and early ’40s. This is a 14-fret model with a mahogany back and sides, mahogany neck (most were poplar) and a red spruce top. This guitar has had all the sound enhancing work done to it - a Martin ebony fingerboard, a Martin ’30s style steel 1/2“ t-bar neck reinforcement, scalloped braces, snake wood bridge plate, Antique Acoustic bridge pins and Waverly tuners with ebony buttons. A great sounding guitar from the late ’30s with all of the best features we see on a Regal from that era, plus a great set up - needs no work.
