Righteous Anger vs Forgiveness: Yudhishthira and Draupadi’s QUARREL in the Mahabharata

Should you forgive those who CONTINUE to hurt you? Prince Yudhishthira and his wife, Draupadi, strongly disagreed about the true path of dharma, righteousness. When you are continually hurt or abused, clinging to so-called righteous anger merely prolongs your suffering. Anger doesn’t solve the problem, effective action does. But if your actions are motivated by anger, they are less likely to be effective. According to Yudhishthira, your efforts to stop ongoing abuse will be more effective if they conform to the laws of dharma. For this reason, the wise cultivate acceptance and forgiveness to overcome anger and address their problems in a dharmic manner. 0:00 Draupadi’s Hurt and Anger 6:52 Anger’s Destructive Force 11:15 Consequences of Feeling Hurt 15:53 Acceptance and Forgiveness Swami Tadatmananda is a traditionally-trained teacher of Advaita Vedanta, meditation, and Sanskrit.
