Russia will launch its Luna-23 lunar landing spacecraft on Friday. Russia is in a race with India to reach the south pole of the moon. India’s space agency launched the Vikram lander module towards the lunar south pole on July 14. It is due to land on August 23, as is Russia’s lander module.
