Hauptachsentransformation der Hyperbel y = c/x

Durch eine Koordinatentransformation in der Form einer Rotation um den Koordinatenursprung mit einem Drehwinkel von 45º kann die Gleichung y = c/x, resp. x · y = c so uumgeformt werden, dass sie die Form einer Mittelpunktgleichung einer Hyperbel annimmt.
