Revellers celebrate Chinese New Year with a parade in London
Londoners celebrated Chinese New Year as a parade of dragons, rabbits and lions made its way through the UK’s capital on Sunday 22 January.
Footage shows many Chinese people on the streets of London as they parade in colorful traditional costumes and carry large animal figures.
The Chinese New Year, also known as Spring Festival or Lunar New Year, is the biggest festival in China, with a 7-day long holiday.
Millions of people in China and Chinese communities around the world hold festivities that last until the following full moon.
The lunar new year, or the Year of the Rabbit, starts on Sunday, January 22, but celebrations for the new year began much earlier.
