Sideline Lumbar Erector Technique | Soft Tissue Release for Lower Back Pain In this tutorial, we demonstrate the Sideline Lumbar Erector Technique, an advanced soft tissue release method for targeting the lumbar erector muscles. The patient is positioned on their side with both hips at approximately 90 degrees. We use various locking methods, including longitudinal, transverse, inferior-to-superior, or superior-to-inferior, to stabilize the area while asking the patient to flex the top leg to stretch the lumbar region. This technique is primarily unilateral, and we work progressively along the lumbar erectors up to T12-L1 before transitioning to seated-based techniques.
