Giraffe feeding on carcass

We came across this unusual event on 20 October 2016 in the Kruger National Park. Giraffes’ habit of chewing on bones is well-known, but this is the first time I notice one licking the meat on a carcass. Perhaps it was after the saltiness of the meat.
