McCarthy slams Gaetz: ‘I haven’t heard him say one true thing’

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy held a press conference today to address the recent controversy surrounding Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida. In his opening statement, McCarthy expressed his disappointment with Gaetz’s conduct and criticized him for not being truthful. “I haven’t heard Gaetz say one true thing,” McCarthy said. “He has been spreading lies and misinformation for far too long, and it’s time for him to be held accountable.” McCarthy went on to claim that eight of his colleagues who voted to oust him are not real conservatives and hinted that he could resign from Congress if the situation does not improve. “I’m tired of the infighting and the lack of unity within our party,” McCarthy said. “If we can’t come together and work towards a common goal, then what’s the point?
