Electrolytic Bromine, Part 1

In this video I make elemental bromine by making use of electrolysis! I believe this is the first video on YouTube to show making bromine this way, but please correct me if I’m wrong. Most people use the distillation method, which is relatively simple but makes lots of fumes that I did not want to deal with. Part I shows the set up and operation of the electrolysis cell, and explains some of the necessary calculations for this experiment. See Part II here:
