Lady Nade & Boo Hewerdine - Anna (Radio 2’s 21st Century Folk)

Lady Nade and Boo Hewerdine perform ‘Anna’ to Anna Heslop, the woman who inspired it. They wrote the song as part of 21st Century Folk, Radio 2’s series that sees five people have songs written about their lives. Nade and Boo met Anna to hear about her experiences working on Cullercoats’ lifeboat, which saves lives on the North Tyneside coast. Anna was the first female helm in the station’s 170-year history.
