Windigo Fest is Wisconsin’s largest Halloween festival of folklore, freaks, and all things macabre! This was my first time going to Manitowoc, as you can probably tell by the bloopers at the end, Native American place names can get confusing around here, but I think I finally figured it out! lol This event was a blast, there were lots of amazing costumes, but I didn’t see the Windigo, he seemed to of already escaped his cage by the time we arrived, but there is always next year. I would have elaborated more about this malevolent spirit, but simply don’t know enough about the Windigo. According to wikipedia it is a cannibalistic creature that represents greed, and didn’t have antlers originally as it is depicted nowadays, but I didn’t delve into this out of respect for Native American culture because wikipedia is often full of misinformation.
