Walt vs Disney Analysis : The Artist vs The Machine

My first film analysis video. Been wanting to do this for a while. Here I look at the early films of Walt Disney including Snow White, Pinocchio, Fantasia, Dumbo, and Bambi and see how they compare with modern Disney movies such as Lion King, Beauty and the Beast , Zootopia, Frozen, and Moana. I look at how Walt used music in his film, the nature of his fable like story’s, and how the genre elements of his films competed with the films of his day. Though sometimes critical the purpose of this video is not to sell these other Disney films short. Rather its to give credit to Walt’s work which I believe doesn’t receive enough. I believe its time that Walts work is analyzed with the same thought and care as given to other great film makers by the likes of lesson from the screenplay, every frame a painting, and the Nerdwriter.
