Calligraffiti: Pokras Lampas

When Pokras Lampas reflects on his art, his references traverse borders and continents. Lampas is originally from St Petersburg, and his calligraphic artworks are formed from Latin and Cyrillic characters, often with Arabic shapes and Oriental, Ancient Greek and Asian elements. Lampas also cites Dutch visual artist Niels Shoe Meulman as a key inspiration. Still, only in his mid-twenties, Lampas has already displayed his work in a solo exhibition at Dubai’s Opera Gallery. The exhibition, which took place at the end of last year, also saw the Russian creating art on a Lamborghini Aventador.
