Kandinsky Noir - 2 Minutes or A Warzone Rendezvous (Censored version)

Full uncensored video: (from April, 8th) Disclaimer: no actress / actor was harmed during the shooting. All represented actions were performed in full consent of the participants. As the title may suggest, the genesis of “2 Minutes” was influenced by the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and it is deeply related to occurrences of private nature: waiting for someone to leave a country in increasing danger at that time, imagining what is actually happening right now and understanding the worries of our previous life do not play their old role anymore. The language used for the lyrics is the one we have all become more aware of these days: a bellic saturation of concepts projected but in the perspective of the love siege, detached from the original meaning. Stylistically the track reminds of the 80ies glam metal, with a determinate concentration on guitar virtuosity, powerful synth lines and paced rhythms. The atmosphere of the track escalates until the final riff in which obscure scales accompany an odd time in ⅞. The video by Maksim Berg, director from Belarus, concentrates on two aspects of violence: the rituality of the latter when related to pleasure in the BDSM practices, when violence itself is exorcised for the sake of transcending it within sexuality and violence as unilateral, brutal display of power over the body. The counterposition of these two perspectives is the struggle between the comfortable Western perception of violence as pure representation, distant image prone to immediate fruition and commodification and the Real “Ding” for which the means of artistic reproduction are always deemed to be absurd. The main question that arises in the work is: how can utter enjoyment and recklessness coexist? For this reason the binary parallel structure of the imagery offers no harmonisable solution. “The sky hangs on its horns, There forever smolders the flesh of the living And the lust for life is fatal, Pushes us to the stone gods, But the gods are drunk or deaf- That’s why we’re alive again And suck blood in our own veins, With the instincts of dung flies.” Follow Kandinsky Noir: Credits: Actresses / Actors Director, Script, Camera, Post Production: Montage, Camera, Assistant Director: Mix and Master: Model Track Artwork: Lyrics: Two minutes to dare, Two minutes to run, Two minutes to swear we won’t come undone. Two minutes to picture how we shone. Too caught in your lines, A tension that rises, A time to unite, a will to divide, A longing as bridge across confines. Between OPFERA and Justine A Substitute for Dom Juan, Feeling Nothing but Hauntologies. All the KIX to avoid reality, All the master’s alibis Disappear in the wait, Disappear in the glow of the fight. Two minutes, Two minutes, Till you attack, We got no more resistance. Two minutes, Don’t hesitate. Two minutes, Two minutes, The battleground of our senses Surrender. Two minutes, Overtake, Overtake me! Two minutes to flee, Two minutes and goodbye, Two minutes to choose between wrong and right. Two minutes and you are out of sight. The days of the chase, the instant of truce, A moment of bet, who wins, who will lose? Escalation, no signs of defuse. Between nostalgia and promises, We’re not eager to succumb, As the seasons pass by, Two minutes for you to return. Two minutes, Two minutes, The alarm sounds, To the pace of the war tanks Two minutes, To escape. Two minutes, Two minutes, Don’t pacify our senses, Deliver them. Two minutes, Liberate Liberate me! Oh, baby, baby, can you hear the sirens? Oh baby, baby can you hear this voice? Oh, baby , baby, it’s a warzone rendezvous, Oh, baby, baby, two minutes are hard to endure.
