Mangled Carpenter - I Saw Three Ships (Official Video)
This is the official video for the Mangled Carpenter Christmas single “I Saw Three Ships“. The song is an extreme metal rendition of the 17th-century English Christmas Carol of the same name.
When researching the song, the band discovered that some historians believe the three ships of course meant, three literal ships. However, there’s no port in Bethlehem (the closest port would be Haifa Port). The song mentions three ships sailing into Bethlehem. So it’s either an artistic play on words or something else entirely. Others believe that the three ships are a reference to the three wise men on camels, as sometimes camels are referred to as “desert ships“.
Well, the band decided for their video, they wouldn’t reference ships OR camels. Instead, they present to you a video consisting of kids dangerously riding their bicycles while wearing monkey masks. Enjoy!
