Eurovision 1972 - United Kingdom

The New Seekers performing “Beg, Steal or Borrow“, the UK entry at the 1972 Eurovision Song Contest. One of the most popular pop bands at the time - having, in fact, just scored a huge worldwide hit with “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing (in Perfect Harmony)“ - the New Seekers represented the host country with this bright and cheery pop number, possibly the year’s most contemporary song (along with the Austrian entry). A truly, truly likeable song and performance, it’s no wonder it was huge with the juries, even if, in the end, it couldn’t deprive Vicky Leandros of victory, eventually giving the UK yet another 2nd place at the contest.
