Swim Drills - 6/1/6 Drills: Swim Training by SwimSmooth - Ep. 11
The 6/1/6 swimming drill is great for freestyle swimmers to develop balance and stabilization in the water while also encouraging a smoother rotation.
With the 6/1/6 swim drill, you kick six times on one side, take one stroke in the middle, then kick six times on the other side. The result: a more efficient stroke to swim faster with less effort.
Coach Paul Newsome of Swim Smooth demonstrates this drill using his home pool, equipped with the Endless Pools Fastlane®. The Fastlane mounts to the deck or wall of almost any traditional pool to deliver the Endless Pools swim current.
Note: beginning around the 2:12 mark, the water distorts the size of the Fastlane unit in relation to the swimmer. The Fastlane unit measures just 34“ tall, 18“ deep, and 29“ wide.
