Trawlers (1954)

Whitstable, Kent. Various shots show fishermen brothers George and Alf Leggatt at sea, showing us their novel way of catching sprats. They trail their nets between two trawlers and use mechanical winches to pay out the net. Jill Leggatt, Alf’s young daughter, beats her arms around her body to keep warm. The nets are pulled in, full of sprats. Jill helps to put the hold covers over the caught fish on one of the boats. Note: Some shots quite dark and misty - probably early morning sea mist. Looks very cold. Notes and news cutting on file. FILM ID: A VIDEO FROM BRITISH PATHÉ. EXPLORE OUR ONLINE CHANNEL, BRITISH PATHÉ TV.
