Various shots show large stacks of cotton stored at a South African port, part of the Egyptian crop purchased last year by the British Government, as it goes up in flames. Firemen and volunteers fight the blaze. Firemen have to be drenched with water so they can get nearer the fire. The fire is seen to burn into the night.
