SV. First Lieutenant B. O. Forbes goes down the hatch and pulls hatch. SV. Three members of the crew working in very confined space. CU. Leading engine mechanic, Brian Clarkson of Lancashire, working the helm, & CU. HMS Shrimp diving. SV. Front part of submarine as it goes under water. LV. Submarine going down and submerging completely. CU. Engineer Hawes, loading smoke candle into signal gun. Candle being pushed into gun, Hawes closes base of gun. LV. Candle burning on surface of water having been fired from sub to indicate where submarine dives. SV. Signal burning on surface in background. In foreground the submarine’s periscope. CU.
