Glen Cottage Polkas – Pridi v Sebja, Novi Sad – Tony’s Musical Journeys

For traditional musicians, the community is important on so many levels. Our livelihood may not always depend on it but the quality of our musical life does. It was not uncommon for musicians of the older generation to stop playing after emigrating to a new country. I certainly don’t want for it to happen in our present-day emigration – and we have wonderful people who’re helping us stay afloat. Not only I was lucky enough to have regular Irish music sessions for the past two years, Tania Sycheva has recently gathered a group of set-dancers and we had our first little ceili with live music around St. Patrick’s Day!☘️ Everything is converging in Novi Sad. You’ll be seeing more videos from that night as I still can’t believe it happened. Of course, there’re many more wonderful folks who’re making all of this possible and I’m really grateful to them. I’m just trying to build on top of what we have. But when you consider yourself part of the traditional music community at large, the bar has already been set high enough for you to keep growing and keep playing – it’s only uphill from there. We’ll keep on rollin’!🎻🎶 Video by Oleg Naumov.
