Tamuke -手向 尺八 - Rodrigo Rodriguez (live in Spain 2017)

Prayer for Safe Passage The term tamuke refers to making spiritual offerings to the Buddha. Originating from the Ise district of Japan, tamuke combines the elements of the requiem and the elegy of Western music. It is a prayer for safe passage through life and through death. Played on a 1.8 Shakuhachi Flute. Tamuke is a repertory of Kaidou-school at Matsusaka in Ise. It seems that this music was composed after Meiji (1878~1912) period. Other Kaidou-school repertories are mostly short and has tasteful names. Tamuke’s composer is possibly Kadoya Kakou. He had written a book named [Take-no-siori] ► BUY SHAKUHACHI FLUTES: ► BOOK SHAKUHACHI LESSONS:info@ ► Rodrigo’s Instagram: ► Rodrigo’s Facebook: ►Twitter: Official website: Rodrigo Rodríguez’s Official website: .
